ROAD TO ELECTION 2012; THE ROLE OF CHRISTIANS

Peace be within thy walls and prosperity within thy palaces. (Psalm 122 verses 7)
The intrinsic nature of Christianity is the love for all manner of people. As we have accepted Jesus Christ into our lives and have taken upon ourselves to follow Him, it is incumbent upon all of us to promote the peace He offered to our fellows.
The road to election 2012 requires a tranquil atmosphere before, during and after it. It is also a critically important process which needs to be done with care. The Christian’s role of promoting peace in the 2012 election should be a major concern. As Christians, we are reminded of the great commission Jesus Christ gave in the gospel according to Saint Mark chapter 16 verses 16a “Go into the world and preach the good news to everyone”. It is understood that preaching the good news is not about breaking the peace among brethren.
Considering the state of our nation in terms of Her stability of peace and order, it is somehow seen that something unwanted could happen if Christians do not continue to preach peace. Christians ought to desist from partisan politics because that can be detrimental to Ghana’s peace and unity. As a Christ-like person, whatever that comes out from your mouth should promote peace.
Maintaining peace in Ghana depends mostly on you. Set your mind to promote peace before, during, and after the 2012 general election. “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” Matthew 5 verses 9.
As Christians, if we set our mind closely on the word of God, peace, growth, stability, and many other compliments shall be added to us. And now, “Finally,  brethren, what so ever things are true, what so ever things are honest, what so ever things are just, what so ever things are pure, what so ever things are lovely, what so ever things are good reports; if there be any praise think on these things”. Philippians chapter 4 verses 8 (KJV).
